Job description
Our clients, a senior couple, are looking for an empathetic travelling Caregiver experienced in caring for the elderly in the comfort of their own home. The person will assist the couple with daily living tasks as well as nursing care if required.
The ideal candidate will travel with the couple to Switzerland, the USA and possibly Madagascar.
The candidate will be expected to provide personal assistance to the employers, offering valuable and reliable help in managing their day-to-day lives.
This is a full-time permanent position, mainly based in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, which involves following the employers on each of their trips and stays of varying lengths in France or abroad (Switzerland, the United States or Madagascar).
The job is to be filled immediately and accommodation is provided on each trip.
Responsibilities
Helping the couple with certain aspects of daily life, including, but not limited to, helping them get ready for the day or for bed.
Assisting the couple to travel varying distances
Being able to administer medication, monitor vital signs, find additional qualified carers if needed and coordinate their schedules.
Accompany the couple to medical appointments and help coordinate healthcare services.
Keep a detailed record of the couple's health progress and report any changes to the family and healthcare providers.
Driving the couple to appointments (medical and other) and helping with certain errands.
Adapting to different working hours, with some days requiring long hours and others requiring no work at all.
Be able to prepare meals on time, quickly and simply (although the couple have personal chefs who do the majority of meal preparation in their various homes).
Requirements
Someone (M/F) with at least 5 years' experience in a similar role working with elderly people in a demanding environment.
A nursing auxiliary diploma would be a real plus but is not compulsory
Empathetic, patient and available
Flexible and able to adapt easily to any last-minute changes in travel schedules.
Integrity, reliability, responsibility
Very discreet and totally trustworthy
Very good verbal and written communication skills, fluent in both French and English
Very good elocution in French and good level of English required
Up-to-date passport and B permit
Permission to travel to the USA and to work in France and Switzerland required
No family obligations
