Description of the home nurse profession
A private nurse at home is a professionally trained individual who has graduated from a paramedical nursing preparatory school or has successfully completed the admission exam at the IFSI (Institute of Nursing Education). Their role involves collaboration with the team of nursing assistants, whether in public institutions, private facilities, or at home.
They provide hygiene, comfort, and safety care to individuals while coordinating the work of nursing assistants who assist them.
In a home setting, the nurse provides medical care and administers treatments prescribed by the doctor. They also perform transfers with or without equipment, depending on the person’s disability.
